Sebastopol Demographics

At the time of the 2010 United States Census, Sebastopol had a population of 7,379, with a population density of 3,982.4 people per square mile. In 2010, there were 3,276 households and 1,854 families.


Of the households, 27.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 14.6% had a single female head-of-household, 4.8% had a single male head-of-household, 34.6% were made up of individuals, and 15.2% were individuals 65 years old or older living alone. 37.2% of the households were opposite-sex married couples, 6.3% were unmarried opposite-sex couples, and 1.6% were same-sex married or unmarried couples. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.82.


Of the population, 20.5% of people were under the age of 18, 6.4% were between 18 and 24, 21.5% were between 25 and 44, 34.2% were between 45 and 64, and 17.4% were 65 years of age or older. The median age in 2010 was 46.1 years old.


The racial profile of Sebastopol in 2010 was as follows: 88.2% white residents, 12% Hispanic or Latino residents, 1.6% Asian residents, 1% black residents, and .3% Pacific Islander residents. 4.1% of Sebastopol residents identified as two or more races and 4% identified as an “other” race.
