Sebastopol is one of the most unique towns in the state of California. Though it is smaller in size than many of the cities in the state, and even within its own county, Sebastopol has so much to do for its residents and its visitors alike. Regardless of what activities you are most interested in, Sebastopol is sure to offer them. The city is rich with a love of wine, creativity, environmental friendliness, and an overall sense of community. Here are just a few of the many things you can do while in town.
Renga Arts is a quirky sculpture garden that is truly delightful to explore while perusing the city. Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent are two local artists in Sebastopol, in fact, many of their sculptures can be seen around town. They opened Renga Arts in order to promote their work all in one location; they are even selling select works. Laurent and Amiot refer to their sculpture style as “junk,” because of the material they use to create their art. At Renga Arts, you can see “junk” style sculptures from other local artists in town, as well.
Swing by Main Stage West and watch an entertaining musical or theatrical production on by some of the most talented local performers. The productions at Main Stage West are always handpicked and uncommon. Enjoy performances like “Yankee Tavern,” “Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike,” and “Other Desert Cities.” Besides the quality productions, Main Stage West also has concerts and an annual Shakespeare Festival during the summer months.
These two wonderful establishments are just a small selection of what you can do while touring Sebastopol. The city always has events and festivals to participate in, as well as local organizations that provide a lot of activity.
